ASUS’s Transformer series of Android tablets have been quite a hit, and the company seems to be set to enter the 7″ tablet segment. A new leak shows off the face of the Memo Pad (Asus, what the eff is with that ‘EEE’ ? Get rid of it already, or I may just EEE you away).
Apparently, the new tablet should be shown off at the CES 2012. Which is just a week or so away from today. January 10 is when the show begins, ending on the 13th.
The Memo Pad seems to be running Honeycomb, but let’s hope they launch it with Ice Cream Sandwich. Would be a major turn off if it doesn’t come with ICS pre-installed already, seeing it’s been a couple of months (almost) since the latest version was announced. On the hardware front, there will be a 1.2 GHz dual core processor, a 7″ display of 1280×800 resolution. Internal memory could be 16 GB or 64 GB (probably, two variants?), 3G, Wi-Fi. The leak also suggests there will be a 3D version. Uhm, okay.
Sounds interesting anyway.
