Breaking: Google Hasn’t Infringed Upon Any Of Oracle’s Patents With Android
Perhaps a big day for Android and Google – the Jury has decided that Google has not infringed upon any of Oracle’s patents with Android.
Oracle had alleged that Google had infringed upon 2 of its patents, and was claiming Billions of Dollars in damages. Now with the case being ruled in favor of Google, there is no case of damages. Also, there was another Copyright infringement criteria, which, both Google and Oracle, have agreed to postpone. So with regards to damages for patents, there is absolutely no money that Oracle is going to get.
What does it mean to you as an end user? Nothing changes. Android has won another battle, and the cost of your devices will not go up due to the OS itself.
