ES File Explorer v3 Comes With A Fresh UI And Built-in Download Manager, To Allow App Data Backup Too

Remember ES File Explorer? You sure do. It’s one of the most downloaded file managers on the Play Store. However, the UI and iconography wasn’t one of the things the developers had nailed. Now though, they’re testing a revamped v3 of the app, and it comes off as a breath of fresh air. It’s got more Holo, at least it tries to.

The change begins with the app icon itself. It’s fresh, and seeing that the same devs created the icon of the present version, it’s surprisingly good. Then come the folder icons in the app. I swear I only used this app to backup apps’ APKs for offline installation (or saving on bandwidth.).

The new features I’ve found –

1. Download Manager

2. Net Manager

3. Apps Backup, along with an option to backup an app’s data, ala Titanium Backup or Carbon. Note that you’ll need to provide root access to the app.

The app is currently in beta, and you can download it over at this XDA thread. How do you like it?
