Among all the exciting stuff Google announced yesterday, this was also announced. The content store, Google Play, now has more than 600,000 apps and games (music/songs, books, movies etc not included), all of them downloaded over 20 Billion times. Yes. 20 billion times.

While that’s a lot of apps, it need not mean all those are of great quality. However, the Play store definitely has more quality apps than the Windows Phone Marketplace, which now stands at 100,000 apps and games. Long way to go, definitely.

Aside, Google also added a couple of neat features to the web front of the Play store (play.google.com). You can now update and uninstall apps directly from Google Play web. The best web app store for smartphones just got a lot better.
