HCL Jumps Into The Battlefield, Launches Three New Android Tablets

This almost sneaked past me, but courtesy HCL’s Facebook page, I got to know that HCL, the Indian IT company, has finally given into the Android temptation and launched three new Tablets based on Google’s OS. However, the spoiler is, all of them are based on Froyo and not Honeycomb, the version of Android made for Tablets. Anyways, I’ll give brief description about each below.

  • 800 MHz Processor
  • 256 MB RAM, 2 GB storage and a front facing camera
  • Browse Internet only via Wi-Fi
  • Will cost 14,990 INR


  • Android 2.2
  • 7″ Capacitive touchscreen
  • 800 MHz Processor
  • 512 MB RAM, 8 GB storage and a 1.3 MP video camera
  • 3G support
  • Will cost 22,990 INR

HCL Me AP10-A1

  • Android 2.2
  • 10″ Capacitive touchscreen
  • 1 GHz Dual Core processor
  • 1 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage and 1.3 MP video calling camera
  • Supports Wi-Fi and 3G
  • Will cost 32,990 INR
