HTC Edge Leaked: Quad Core 1.5 GHz Processor, Ice Cream Sandwich And 4.7″ HD Display
HTC has a monster in works, according to a new leak.
The device is code-named Edge, for now, and will possibly be unveiled at Mobile World Congress next year.
HTC will be using the NVIDIA Tegra 3 – having four cores, and each core clocked at 1.5 GHz. The Taiwanese manufacturer will supposedly ship the Edge with Ice Cream Sandwich right away, and will have some new Sense goodness, apart from some new content services. 1 GB RAM and 32 GB internal memory round off the package nicely, for now. Oh, there will also be a 4.7″ HD Display, so yeah. All connectivity options will be there, including Bluetooth 4.0 (no word yet on NFC, but I guess it will find its way too).
Battery apprehensions? There will be, obviously, given the crazy power that it is reportedly going to pack in. And then, if that’s what smartphones will be coming with, in the near future, you have to wonder, how silly these companies are becoming. Yes, silly. Even my desktop is a dual core, clocked at 1.6 GHz. And it works super fine, on Windows 8. Android’s gotta be a bitch, by those means, eh.
We’re supposed to see the HTC Edge in late Q1 – early Q2 next year, so we can sit back for now. And some of you planning to get this can go and start saving. Heard it’s going to cost both your legs.
