HTC Gold And Wildfire S Are Nothing But Desire C – ICS On The Cheap
If you’ve been looking at devices being launched with Ice Cream Sandwich, but couldn’t afford them, there have been a couple of devices, and here’s another one – HTC Desire C. The Desire C was leaked as the Gold initially, and then as Wildfire S. While it was expected that it’ll be unveiled at MWC/CES, it didn’t happen. Now it looks like HTC is all set to unveil it, seeing Vodafone Portugal couldn’t help posting it on its website.
Anyway, here are the specs we know right now –
- Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with Sense 4.0
- 3.5″ TFT LCD display of 320×480 resolution
- 600 MHz processor
- 5 MP camera (!), LED flash seems to be absent, no front facing camera
- 4 GB internal memory, expandable with a microSD card
- Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth, HSPA, GPS
- 1230 mAh battery
This little droid could be a surprise package, but the processor part seems a tad too weak. Perhaps 800 MHz would have been good. Camera choice seems bad as well – they could have lowered the resolution and put in an LED flash (costs are always a concern, more so if it’s a budget device). Thankfully, the 4 GB internal memory is expandable – two companies have committed blunders on this aspect recently – Sony with the Xperia U, and Samsung with the Omnia M (Omnia M should have had 8 GB internal memory, seeing Windows Phone doesn’t support memory cards yet).
Price? Not known yet. Availability? We’ll know soon.
