HTC To Offer 5 GB Storage Space On Dropbox With Its New Android Phones
To rival Microsoft and Apple, who offer Skydrive and iCloud as online storage media, HTC has partnered with Dropbox to provide 5 GB worth free online storage.
According to Pocket-lint, HTC will be offering this 5 GB worth space on Dropbox for free on its future Android phones. But, if you’ve got the HTC Rhyme, you will have the chance to get additional 3 GB, apart from the 2 GB space you already get, on Dropbox. All you have to do is, connect the Dropbox account with your phone. Thereby totalling 5 GB. Sounds good eh.
The plan to offer this to its Windows Phone based devices is not in place yet. Skydrive could be the reason, as it is already baked in to the OS by Microsoft, and offers a far more greater space – 25 GB, all for free. And if some reports are to be believed, Microsoft plans to offer unlimited storage space for photos and documents. If it does that, it’d be a killer move. But well, until then, we’ll have to suffice with 25 gigs.
Meanwhile, HTC, reconsider that 5 GB limit?
