HTC To Shut Down Its South Korea Office, ‘Sluggish’ Sales To Be Blamed
Oh boy, HTC has decided to shut down its office in South Korea, the home to Samsung and LG.
According to TNW (which relayed the news from Yonhap, a Korean news agency), HTC hasn’t been able to compete with Samsung and even LG on their home turf. Which is slightly surprising, since the One series from HTC has been pretty good. To make matters worse, the country Director resigned after a 6 month stint. Looks like he failed to turn around HTC’s fortunes, but 6 months is too less to be able to do any good.
On the other hand, Samsung is only gaining more ground as we talk. Last time I heard, they’d sold 10 million Galaxy S3s in two months. Or eight weeks. Or, 1.25 million a week.
