Just In: LG Spectrum Announced At CES 2012 – 1.5 GHz Dual Core Processor, 4.5″ HD Display In Tow, For $200

LG announced its flagship LTE enabled smartphone – “Spectrum” at CES 2012 today. It was leaked before, and the launch was very imminent, so here it is. The specs are quite good, what with a 4.5″ IPS LCD display of HD resolution, a dual core 1.5 GHz processor, an 8 MP camera and 4G LTE support. The price is very good as well.

Here’s an excerpt from the press release -

Spectrum by LG will be available on Jan. 19 in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and online at www.verizonwireless.com for $199.99 with a new two-year customer agreement. Customers who purchase a Spectrum by LG will need to subscribe to a Verizon Wireless Nationwide Talk plan beginning at $39.99 monthly access and a smartphone data package starting at $30 monthly access for 2 GB of data.

Sounds good? Here are more specs:

  • Android 2.3 Gingerbread, upgradable to Ice Cream Sandwich
  • 4.5″ IPS LCD display, of HD resolution (1280×720 pixels)
  • 1.5 GHz dual core processor
  • 8 MP rear camera, LED flash, full HD (1080p) recording support; 1.3 MP front calling camera

I’ll update with more specs as soon as they are available. Apparently, LG doesn’t think we’re savvy enough to want to check out stuff such as the memory and other connectivity options. Ugh.
