LG Does A Samsung (Which Did A Dell), Teases Optimus Vu With A 5″ Display, Gingerbread And 1.5 GHz Dual Core Processor
Remember Dell launched a 5″ Android device back in the days of Golliath? Okay, not that early, but I remember Dell being the first manufacturer to come with a 5″ Android. Samsung aped Dell’s thinking, but it executed its strategy brilliantly. So much so that people have started asking me if they should ditch their iPhones (them being fanboys) for Galaxy Note. Take a bow, Samsung.
It seems like LG’s got a 5″ Android in its bags too, and it seems to be prepping up the launch, probably at MWC. The Korean’s site teased the Optimus Vu, which could be called the Optimus Sketch, or worse, Optimus Note. The latter would be… copysome?
Jokes apart, here’s what we know about the device –
- Android 2.3 Gingerbread at launch, 4.0 in the works
- 1.5 GHz Dual Core Processor, 1 GB RAM
- 8 MP main camera
- Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC
Too mucha similarity, you say? They’re both from the same country, after all (Samsung and LG). Getting inspired (or the lack thereof) is something they share, among many other things.
Expect a MWC launch.
[UPDATE] There is an unlisted teaser video on Youtube that shows off Optimus Vu. Have a look
