LG LS970 Could Be Sprint’s Eclipse 4G LTE – Quad Core Krait Processor, 4.67″ HD Display, 13 MP Camera

LG LS970 Sprint Eclipse 4G LTE

Here’s a new beast waiting to be revealed – the LG LS970, which could probably be Sprint’s Eclipse 4G LTE. Just going by the leaked specs and stuff, it sounds like one of those top devices which are now packing more punch and have more processing power than my dual core desktop.

Let’s have a look at the specs first –

  • Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with LG’s custom UI on top
  • 4.67″ LCD display of 1280×768 resolution
  • 1.5 GHz Quad Core Krait processor, Adreno 320 GPU
  • 13 MP rear camera, 1080p video recording; front facing 1.3 MP camera
  • 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal memory, expandable with a microSD card
  • LTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth, DLNA etc
  • 2100 mAh battery

Those specs are very impressive. We also have to remember LG was the first to come with a dual core smartphone, so it won’t be a surprise if this phone really packs in all these specs. Another first to their credit – they launched the first phone with 2 GB RAM. That sounds a lot. That’s also the amount of RAM on my PC, and I was expecting no one would beat my PC in that aspect for quite some time. Oh well.

But them, you should also remember LG had launched the Optimus LTE 2 – it comes with a TrueHD IPS LCD display, and ICS, and is supposedly LG’s answer to Samsung’s Galaxy S3. If that’s true, and it mostly is, you have to wonder, what’s the point in announcing yet another superphone when you already have announced one recently? I don’t get it. LG seems to have its processing done from the back, but we’ll wait and watch from the sidelines.
