Meizu Renames MX Quad-core To MX 4-Core, In Stores Starting June 30 – Prices Starting $400

Meizu MX 4-core

Remember Meizu and their flagship MX? Well, here’s some good news, if you’ve been waiting for the device to hit stores – beginning June 30, it’ll be available in stores. Meizu’s stores, that is.

Meizu also renamed the device to MX 4-core, from MX Quad-core. Which, really, is not of much importance, other than confusing us and you all 😉

Aside, here are the specs of the beast –

  • Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with Meizu’s Flyme skin on top
  • 4″ ASV display, 640×960 pixels resolution
  • 1.4 GHz Quad Core Exynos processor, Mali-400 MP GPU
  • 8 MP main camera, LED flash, 1080p recording; front facing VGA camera
  • 1 GB RAM, 32 GB / 64 GB internal memory, not expandable
  • Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, Wi-Fi b/g/n, GPS
  • 1700 mAh battery

The specs sound good. They’ll sound even better when you realize that the 32 GB version will cost $400, whereas the 64 GB version will set you back by $530. Quite huge, the difference in the prices of the two variants. The MX 4-core will be available in 4 colors – ivory white, milky lime, lilac purple and misty pink.

I’m trying to find out if you can place orders online. However, there is confirmed information that it will be available in Meizu’s stores beginning June 30.
