Samsung Could Replace Android With Tizen In The High End
Shocking, but something we’d all seen coming for quite some time now. Samsung could be ditching Android for its high end devices. At least that seems to be the plan. The company aims to launch one high-end device running Tizen, its own OS, in the last quarter of this year.
Word is also making the rounds that the device is ready enough to be shown to its partners, and it could happen as early as Mobile World Congress, which is 10 days away from now. Expect a thing or two to be leaked/revealed.
Could this be a good move for Samsung? Or could it help the ailing Android OEMs like HTC, LG etc? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure – it’s going to be interesting. However, there are just too many new OSs coming out in this period – Firefox OS, Jolla’s Sailfish, Ubuntu for phones, and Tizen, which has been in the works for quite some time as it is.
