Samsung Launches Galaxy Ace Plus – Less iPhoney, More Power, Still Comes With Gingerbread
Samsung has made the Galaxy Ace Plus official. The successor to the original Galaxy Ace, this device comes with a 3.65″ TFT LCD display, Gingerbread and a faster processor.
Aimed at the budget segment, the Galaxy Ace Plus (huff puff, prefix Samsung in front of the name, I could die out of frustration) is not something that may appeal to everyone, and if it doesn’t appeal to you, it’s not aimed at you. Also, I’m quite irritated to see that the display resolution is a paltry 320×480 pixels. Horrible. Even the more-than-an-year-old Dell XCD 35/ZTE Blade comes with a high res (480×800 pixels) resolution.
Specs at a quick glance -
- Android 2.3 Gingerbread with TouchWiz slapped on top (and something called Samsung L!ve Panel UX)
- 3.65″ TFT LCD display of 320×480 resolution
- 1 GHz processor
- 512 MB RAM, 3 GB internal memory, expandable up to 32 GB with a microSD card
- 5 MP main camera on the back, single LED flash, no front calling camera
- Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi b/g/n, GPS
However, it does look a bit nicer, and admittedly less iPhoney. Remember how the original Galaxy Ace imitates the iPhone 3GS?
