Launch time, folks. Samsung has launched four new Galaxy series of devices, namely – Galaxy Y, Galaxy Y-Pro, Galaxy M-Pro and Galaxy W. Don’t get confused, here are some images. Apparently, these names are supposed to help users what to expect, but….
The Y here stands for ‘Young’ – I’m young, but I’m not really sure if this device seems good for people my age. Also, I’m left to wonder if Samsung thinks the young brigade should be using entry level devices like this..
Running Gingerbread, packing in a 3″ LCD display of 320×240 resolution, running on a 832 MHz processor, the Galaxy Y also has a 2 MP snapper on the back, SWYPE coming pre-installed, and a 1200 mAh battery.
This one’s a bit more better specc’ed than the former two devices. The Galaxy M-Pro comes with a 2.66″ touchscreen of 480×320 resolution, Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). There’s a 1 GHz processor under the hood. A 5 MP camera rests on the rear, whereas it’s a 3 MP on the front. Battery is quoted at 1350 mAh. Good enough.
This one’s up the charts. Packing in a 3.7″ LCD display of 800×480 resolution, a 1.4 GHz processor, this device could possibly be good for youngsters. Comes with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). Also, not to forget, the Touchwiz UI is still there.
