Sony To Push Out ICS Update For The Tablet P And S By April

Sony Tablet S and P ICS

Here’s some good news for the owners of Sony’s duo of tablets – S and P. The Japanese company will be pushing out the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update by April. And it will also come with a couple of great additions.

There are three important new feature add-ons, apart from update to Sony’s UI and of course, Android.

First of all, you can now watch videos recorded on your Sony Blu-Ray recorders by downloading an app. The ones who use a Sony Blu-Ray recorder will appreciate this. Next, you will be able to take panoramic photographs from within the Camera app, once the update arrives. Also, you can edit photos from with in the Gallery app.

The major add-on will be what Sony calls ‘Small Apps’. If you’re doing something currently, and need to do a quick calculation, you can instantly open the Calculator app. If you want to check something on the web, you can open a new browser window quickly. The press release has small screenshots of the same thing, so I’m not too sure you’ll be able to understand anything. Let’s wait for an official video or something (read: leak).

Nonetheless, it shouldn’t be long.
