T-Mobile Announces Sidekick 4G

It’s finally here. T-Mobile has formally announced the successor to the wildly popular Sidekick, the Sidekick 4G, this time made by Samsung. Throw in a 3.5″ touchscreen, a 1 GHz Hummingbird to keep the Sidekick kicking, and Android 2.2 goodness (lah, what?!). This time around, there’s a FCC thrown in to utilise the fast HSPA+ network (gives speeds upto 21 Mbps). Nice. Oh did I say there’s a 5-row slideout Qwerty as well! Very nice.

The Sidekick 4G has gone a step ahead in terms of texting – two new apps, Group Text and Cloud Text have been thrown in to get you addicted to texting once again. I specially like the Cloud Text app – connect your device to your computer and text right from there. Don’t worry, it all gets synced to your new Sidekick 4G. Neat!

Another nice app loaded is the Drivesmart, which will prevent you from texting while driving. Cool.
