T-Mobile Makes The HTC Amaze 4G @ $260 And Galaxy SII @ $230 Official
T-Mobile announced what it calls its fastest smartphones – the HTC Amaze 4G and the Samsung Galaxy S2, at GigaOm Mobilize 2011. Both the devices support T-Mo’s ’4G’ network, and you can get speeds up to 42 Mbps.
The Amaze 4G was leaked a few times before it made its way out, though. Coming with Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread and Sense 3.0 and 1.5 GHz dual core Snapdragon processor, the Amaze 4G packs in a 4.3″ Super LCD display, of qHD resolution. There’s an 8 MP snapper on the back, with support for 1080p recording, and on the front, there’s a 2 MP camera. There’s 16 GB worth internal memory which can be expanded with a microSD card by another 32 GB. Nice. There’s a 1730 mAh Li-ion battery in there.
The Galaxy S2 comes with a newer version of Android, v2.3.5 Gingerbread. The processor is the same found in the Amaze 4G – 1.5 GHz dual core Snapdragon. The display though, is a 4.5″ Super AMOLED Plus unit, of QVGA resolution. Awesomeness. An 8 MP snapper on the back will also let you record 1080p videos, and the 2 MP unit on the front will let you make video calls. Same goes for the memory – 16 GB internal, expandable by another 32 GB with a microSD card. Galaxy S2 comes with a 1850 mAh capacity battery.
The Amaze 4G is available for $260 after a $50 mail-in rebate, on a two year contract. Galaxy S2 will be available for $230, same terms.
