[With Installation Procedure] Notion Ink Releases Alpha ICS ROM For Adam, Announcement About Next Gen Hardware Coming Next Week

Notion Ink Adam ICS Alpha

Notion Ink has not ditched the Adam yet, or so it seems. They have pushed out an Alpha version of ICS ROM for their tablet, but it is not bug free, as you should know.

There’s a ton of bugs, out of which the major ones are –

  • 3G
  • Camera
  • USB plugged-in at boot
  • USB mass storage and MTP
  • USB Flash Drive
  • Light Sensor
  • Sleep Bug
  • Video Acceleration for High Quality YouTube Video
  • HDMI Sound

Also, here’s how to install the ROM manually –

  • Copy update.zip and adam_AlphaICS.zip to the external sdcard.
  • Start the device in recovery mode.
  • Select Install update.zip from external SD Card(Thanks to DJ_Steve for the recovery image)
  • Once complete, reboot to recovery mode again
  • Wipe the data and select the option – install zip from SD card.
  • Select choose zip from SD Card
  • Select adam_AlphaICS.zip
  • Wipe the data and cache
  • Reboot the device

And, here’s the more interesting bit – Rohan Shravan, the master teaser at Notion Ink, has hinted about an announcement of a next-gen device. Tablet Eve, perhaps? We’ll find out.

Here’s a demo video of the ROM running on the Adam –
