Xperia Play Up For Pre-order At Verizon, To Ship By May 25

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, announced at the Mobile World Congress, is finally up for pre-order over at Verizon Wireless. The Android 2.3 running device comes with -

  • 4″ LED Backlit LCD touchscreen of FWVGA resolution (480×854 pixels)
  • PSP-like gaming buttons
  • 5 MP AF camera, front facing VGA camera
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot
  • 1 GHz Scorpion processor; Adreno 205 GPU
  • 1500 mAh battery – serves talktime of upto 8.5 hours on 2G and 6.5 hours on 3G

You can get the device for about $450 without any contract, or for $200 with a 2-year contract. The off contract price seems to be a bit on the higher side, though.
