HTC Telstra Velocity 4G

If you live in Australia and have been wanting a 4G LTE smartphone for quite some time now, here’s something for you – HTC and Telstra will be launching an Android smartphone in the coming days, Queanbeyan Age reports.

HTC Velocity 4G Telstra

Telstra launched its LTE network only recently, and having a phone this soon is quite good. Here are the specs. Be ready, they may just be quite awesome –

  • Android 2.3 Gingerbread, with Sense UI on top
  • 4.5″ qHD resolution Super LCD display – 540×960 pixels
  • 1.5 GHz dual core processor, Adreno 220 GPU
  • 8 MP rear camera, dual LED flash, 1080p video recording; 1.3 MP front facing camera
  • 1 GB RAM, 16 GB internal memory, expandable with a microSD card
  • Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi tethering, GPS
  • 1620 mAh battery

The specs are quite top notch, and the device is just a bit less powerful than my desktop PC.

According to the guys there, the Velocity 4G will be launched later this month, probably in the last week.

Stay hooked, I’ll update you with the launch date and pricing info soon.

Meanwhile, keep hitting up Telstra’s Velocity 4G page, you should know if it’s officially official. Currently, the link gives a File Not Found error, but hang in there.
