HTC’s Droid DNA Goes Global As Butterfly

HTC Butterfly

Remember the Droid DNA? Or the J Butterfly exclusive to Japan? Well, the Taiwanese manufacturer has made the global version official, on its website. It’s called the Butterfly, and packs in the same specs with a couple of changes here and there. That is, it’s powerful and the display has a stunning resolution of 1920×1080 pixels on a Super LCD3 unit.

  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with Sense+ UI on top
  • 5″ Super LCD3 display of full HD resolution (1920×1080), ~441 PPI
  • 1.5 GHz quad core Snapdragon S4 processor, Adreno 320 GPU
  • 8 MP main camera, LED flash, 1080p recording; front facing 2.1 MP camera capable of 1080p recording as well
  • 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal memory, expandable by another 32 GB with a microSD card
  • Wi-Fi b/g/n, Direct, Hotspot, DLNA, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with GLONASS
  • 2020 mAh battery

The Butterfly does look great, and is HTC’s first phone (Droid DNA and J Butterfly are but only variants of this one.) with a 1080p display. There is no information on pricing at this point, neither is there anything known about the availability. Normally, it’d be a month or two before it reaches the Indian shores.
