LG Announces Optimus Sol, Comes With A 3.8″ Ultra AMOLED Screen

LG Optimus Sol

The Optimus line of devices from LG is growing. LG’s just added the Optimus Sol to it, which features an ‘Ultra AMOLED’ touchscreen. Looking at the specs, it looks like an upper mid-range device.

Coming to the Ultra AMOLED. According to LG, it has a two-fold advanced reflection rate compared to standard AMOLED displays. This, apparently, should help you see stuff even better when you’re outdoors.

Specs that matter:

  • Android 2.3 (Gingerbread)
  • 3.8″ Ultra AMOLED display of 800×480 resolution
  • Qualcomm MSM8255 processor, clocked @ 1 GHz; 512 MB RAM
  • 150 MB internal memory, expandable; 2 GB microSD card included
  • Wi-Fi b/g/n, GPS, aGPS, Bluetooth 3.0, DLNA
  • 1500 mAh battery

There’s a new Power management system in the Optimus Sol. It promises to increase battery life by 20 to 30 percent. Great news, but then, I want to see innovations in the battery technology. Also, users can switch to a ‘Dark UI’, saving even more power. Nice!

The Optimus Sol will come in three colors – Black, White and Titan. Pricing information hasn’t been revealed yet.
