[Updated With Specs] Panasonic Eluga – Minimalist, Dust-proof, Water-proof, Android

Panasonic Eluga

Panasonic has made the minimalist Eluga official, and it’s headed straight to Europe. Panasonic had shown off the prototype in December.

However, all that we know about the device is the display size. The Eluga will come with a 4.3″ OLED display of 960×540 resolution (qHD). Also, the device will be water-proof and dust-proof. But, unlike the Defy and the Defy+ from Motorola, this device won’t look as bad (or ugly, whichever you’d like). In fact, it looks quite neat from the front. Minimalism for the win!

Panasonic Eluga

I’m hoping Panasonic launches the Eluga with ICS out of the box. Other well known OEMs keep pumping out devices with Gingerbread even now, so it wouldn’t be quite a surprise if Panasonic comes out with Gingerbread, too.

Let’s see.

Update: Here we have the specs!

  • Android 2.3 Gingerbread, ICS update in Summer
  • 4.3″ OLED display of qHD resolution (960×540)
  • 1 GHz Dual Core processor
  • 8 MP camera on the back, capable of recording 1080p videos;
  • 1 GB RAM, 8 GB internal memory, non-expandable
  • NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS
  • 1150 mAh battery

Not as exciting now, eh. My main issue is with the memory. You can’t expand it, but given the waterproof nature of the device, it is understandable. But battery? That’s only 1150 mAh. Paltry.
