Verizon Announces The Motorola XYBOARD 10.1 And 8.2 – XOOM 2 And XOOM 2 Media Edition With LTE

Motorola Xyboard

Verizon has something new.. err.. not quite. It has announced the LTE versions of XOOM 2 and XOOM 2 Media Editon (aren’t tablets supposed to be media-centric, anyway?) – Xyboard 10.1 and Xyboard 8.2 (and has done enough to send our minds in a tizzy). This fascination with X is something I won’t understand. Not any time soon.

Anyway, the Xyboard 10.1 and 8.2 pack in 10.1″ and 8.2″ displays, respectively. Rest of the stuff is same. Both come with a 1.2 GHz dual core processor, a 5 MP camera on the back, with a 1.3 MP unit on the front, EVDO LTE, Android Honeycomb 3.2 and of course, Wi-Fi b/g/n.

Both these tablets will burn your pocket and how.

The Xyboard 10.1 will cost –

  • 16 GB for $530
  • 32 GB for $630
  • 64 GB for $730

And the Xyboard 8.2 –

  • 16 GB for $430
  • 32 GB for $530

Both the tablets will be available on a two year contract. Yes. After paying that insane price, they won’t come unlocked. You’ll have to shell out a minimum of $30/month for 2 years for the data plan.

Pretty sure the guys at Cupertino are laughing their asses off.
