India’s biggest carrier, Bharti Airtel, is all set to launch its 4G LTE services in Bangalore on May 7. According to the sources, Airtel has readied its 4G network in Bangalore.
The launch is going to happen on May 7, officially, and commercial 4G services will also commence on the same day. The carrier is offering a couple devices to use the 4G-LTE services – the Huawei E392 USB modem and the Huawei B593 Indoor Wireless Gateway, and you’ll need a new 4G enabled 128 kB USIM. These are the modems. Airtel also has an LTE Data Card and WiFi CPE, both of which will be locked to the network, meaning you cannot use them with other networks.
Airtel’s the first carrier to roll out 4G LTE services in India, so the prices may be a tad high in the beginning. Expect them to fall once other players also roll out their services.
