Nokia N9 Gets An Update, Also, Now In White
Nokia all the way, today, it seems. Earlier in the day, the Finns unveiled their first Windows Phones – the Lumia 800 and the Lumia 710. Also shown off was the Asha series – carrying forth Elop’s vision of ‘Connecting the next Billion’.
Now, there’s a software update available for the lone MeeGo device from the company.
The update includes
- Usability improvements, like music controls keys from the lock screen
- Closing apps by swiping them down by default
- NFC Tag reading capability
And now, it will be available in White as well. Glossy finish, not Matte finish, unlike the other colors (Magenta, Blue, and Black). From Nokia Conversations blog –
White devices are all the rave at the moment. So why was the Nokia N9 not available in white from the start? Frank Zillikens, who heads up the product marketing for Nokia N9, explains: “The manufacturing process for beautiful white products is quite complex and we wanted to make sure we deliver the best possible quality for our consumers.”
Quite good to see some support for this device midst Nokia’s concentration on Windows Phone.
