Nokia Sleeping Screen: A Quick Review
Although most of us are disappointed with the way Nokia is handling Software updates for symbian devices, but on the other hand Nokia Beta labs are coming up with some interesting applications which keep us hopeful that Symbian will survive. Yesterday I talked about Nokia Drop and today I am gonna tell about another interesting beta application recently launched by Nokia Beta Labs i.e. ‘Nokia Sleeping Screen’.
At first instant you might ignore it, mistaking it as an ordinary screensaver. But if you happen to use it and explore it, you will find that it is much advanced form of a screensaver and is far better than other battery consuming screensavers. I will quickly pen down few of the salient features of Nokia Sleeping Screen:-
(i) You can chose out of 9 (8 colorful and 1 nightmode) screens, which have eyecatching graphics.
(ii) It consumes very less battery life unlike other graphical screensavers.
(iii) You can set the time for night/sleep mode and it will change your screen into dimmer screen having a clock on it.
(iv) Battery Saving is kept in mind while creating this application, when the screen of phone is covered (when it is in your pocket or bag), the screen will be automatically switched off consuming even lesser amount of battery. So you don’t need any pocket lock application for your phone.
(v) You can easily activate and deactivate from the them option of your phone. I have categorically mentioned this feature because a previous screensaver kind of application by Nokia betalabs called Nokia Bubble doesn’t have the option of deactivating. So, if you have already got Nokia Bubbles on your phone, you have to uninstall it before using Nokia Sleeping Screen to the fullest, otherwise you would keep on fiddling between these two applications.
(vi) Although its named as Sleeping Screen, but it is not sleeping at all. It has beautiful notifications with amazing effects for a new message, missed call, calendar entry and even for battery charging.
(vii) And to the delight of all twitter fans using gravity, it supports gravity’s push notifications of mentions and messages.
So it is a must have application, and as a tech freak i would love to have some additional features in it. I would love if this sleeping screen could direct me to the unread message or the missed call. But its very cool application in its primary beta stage, so guys just download it from Nokia betalabs and enjoy…
