Samsung Galaxy S3 Launched In India, MRP Rs 43,180 ($765)

I don’t think this needs any introduction, so I’ll cut straight to the point. Samsung has launched the Galaxy S3 in India for an MRP of Rs 43,180. Oh yes, Rs 43,180, or $765. Off contract, of course, and yeah, it’s the 16 GB version.

Samsung Galaxy S3

At an event in Delhi, Samsung made the Galaxy S3 official. No word yet on the 32 GB and 64 GB versions yet, but the real price in the markets should be in the Rs 40,000 range. Still, for a 16 GB model, that’s an insane amount of money that Samsung is asking. Who would pay that much for a device that looks like a mid-range device? Yes, at that price, looks matter a LOT more.

The Galaxy S3 is rock solid on the specs front though, with a 4.8″ Super AMOLED Plus display of HD resolution, a quad core 1.4 GHz processor, an 8 MP camera, fullHD video recording and a huge battery of 2100 mAh capacity. Still, disappointed with the pricing.

The Galaxy S3 is now available in White, with the Blue version coming soon. (off to read hilarious tweets mocking the SGS3’s price).
