Nokia Announces Angry Birds: Free With Magic, Hopes To Teach You How To Use NFC

Lo Behold, you can now use that NFC in-built in your new Nokia device to actually play Angry Birds! Yes, that’s true.

A new version of Angry Birds, the Angry Birds Free with Magic, will need you to find a stranger/friend that also has a NFC enabled device, and tag your device somthing like this –

With Angry Birds Magic, friends can group together to combat the pig menace, in a new take on the game that so many people all over the world have fallen love with,” said Mikael Hed from Rovio. “This is an exclusive offering with the Nokia C7, a smartphone that really kicks off the NFC experience for developers. In time, the communal power of users with Angry Birds Magic could prove even stronger than the Mighty Eagle.

The game consists of 20 levels. First five come unlocked, and to unlock the next levels, you’ll need to touch you device with another NFC enabled device. Once you do that, the next 5 levels get unlocked. So going by this, you’ll need to find 3 friends with NFC enabled devices. Phew!

Nokia’s Bryan Biniak, head of Ovi Publish, told us: “Angry Birds Magic is a great demonstration of NFC technology and we’re delighted to have it exclusive to Nokia. It represents an exciting opportunity for developers to create new, innovative apps and games.”’
