Umm, I just happened to come across this video on YouTube, a while back, where Nokia CEO Stephen Elop talks about Nokia’s strategy henceforth. For starters, I’m not really sure, but it looks like it’s after the N9 launch in Singapore.

S40 Clipper programme …and the underlying Meltemi software effort Delivery and Launch Services – Location and Commerce Deliver differentiation…Meltemi, or MeeGo Lite, that is what could replace Symbian S40 (woohoo!), according to a report by WSJ. Course, Meltemi is still a code name, and sounds weird for a mobile (smart or not, I don’t know) OS. But Harmattan sounded weird too, so quite a possibility the name remains.

One would have expected that Elop would change his mind after the reception the N9 has received the world over, including those who have had a love-hate relationship in the past with the Finnish giant. Turns out to be otherwise, and this soon.

Nokia’s Board of Directors has appointed Stephen Elop President and Chief Executive Officer of Nokia as of September 21. Elop currently heads Microsoft’s Business Division.
Before joining Microsoft, Elop held senior executive positions in anumber of US-based public companies, including Juniper Networks, Adobe Systems Inc. and Macromedia Inc. He holds a degree in computer engineering and management from McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada, which is his homecountry.
