Probably the sexiest device among the current crop, the Xperia Arc is receiving the much awaited Gingerbread update in India. There are some bug fixes and some new features thrown in the mix, as happens with any other update. The major feature added is “Facebook Inside Xperia” – more on that here.
Android 2.4, spotted on the Sony Ericsson Arc and later dismissed by SE itself as an error, may well be for real. Gingerbread was announced just a month ago, and there’s news of v2.4 already. Dutch site Tweakers found this little piece of buzz-worthy info while playing around with Sony Ericsson Arc. We hear it’s some mods to v2.3 along with a GTalk app that will allow video calling. Hang on, we’ll see what more we can get on this.
Just as we write about the Optimus Black, here’s a leak, from Sony Ericsson. It’s about the Arc, that is reported to be coming with a huge 4.2” touchscreen, and Sony’s BRAVIA engine that does real-time noise reduction and sharpness and other visibility related adjustments. Hence the name Reality display. The screen res is 854×480, so you may not have any sorta app constraints. Nice.
