That was one complex headline, but it finally makes sense now. Microsoft has activated full resolution backups of photos and videos to SkyDrive for Windows Phone 8 users, and it should take anywhere between an hour to a few days for the option to show up on your device.

Something good just arrived on Windows Phone. What? A Facebook app. A revamped, mix of Metro and Facebook’s own UI. There’s an official app already, standing at v4.2.1, but it’s best ignored to say the least.
The existing app adopted Windows Phone’s Panaromic UI, but it was never a good…
This is a really smart ad from Microsoft, showing Apple and Samsung/Android fans fighting, and a couple of Lumia 920 users calmly using their devices. The ad is going to air in the US later, but the video has been released on YouTube.
This comes on…
Microsoft had promised that Windows Phone 8 would have Skype integration built in to the OS. This wasn’t to happen at launch, though. However, Joe Belfiore, Windows Phone’s head, has taken to Twitter to reveal that this is coming, and it will come via an app update, if I’m reading it correctly.
That will take the number…
Things happen. And when they’re less than favourable, you either work hard and fast to ensure you’re competitive, or you fall back, exhibiting your inability to prevent the fact that you’re the market leader has got to your head. Every leader is susceptible to the latter, but good leaders work hard and maintain their lead. It’s one thing to become a leader, another to retain your leadership.

Creativity is everywhere, or so goes an ad’s punchline. Probably true. And Nokia India is going a step ahead, and is asking you to win a Lumia 510, turn you into a celeb for your creativity.
It’s an interesting concept. You create an account, upload your photos, text, videos or anything else you might…
WhatsApp for Windows Phone 8 is coming soon, guys. I’ve been reading people angry that the app is not available for the shiny new devices running the latest version of the IM app, and they were all very frustrated. The wait might be ending soon, as the developers have said that they’re working hard to…
Shocker, but not really. Damian Dinning, or @PhoneDaz, is leaving Nokia at the end of this month. If you still don’t know who he is, then he’s the vision behind the PureView technology which wowed the world when Nokia launched the 808 PureView. Or Nokia’s Imaging lead, in other words. For a company proud of its Imaging…
The details are out… of the launch event, of course. Microsoft is sending out invites to the press members, asking them to join in for the official unveiling of the next version of Windows Phone, 8, aka Apollo, at an event in San Francisco.
What this means is that we’ll be knowing…
Viber is an app that lets you make free calls and send free texts… amazing eh? Viber was already available for all major platforms – iOS, Android, and BlackBerry. Their multi-platform approach bundled with great features surely helped them cross 100 million users. As if this wasn’t enough Viber announced support for S40, Symbian and Bada too. The surprising thing is that even older S60 Symbian devices will be supported.
Confirming what we already knew, Nokia has tweeted that it’s organising an event in New York, on September 5th. And guess what, Nokia fans, it’s open for all. The registrations have begun, and you can go attend the event, for free.

Something that has been irritating me over the last weekend has been WhatsApp’s disappearance from the Windows Phone Marketplace. I had it installed on my HTC HD7, which my brother happened to uninstall mistakenly. And then I got the Lumia 610 for review. I decided to go install WhatsApp on both the phones, but to my utter shock, it was nowhere to be found.
